Development Guided by Georgia's Early Learning Standards
Your child's development is guided by the Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) which is a research-based flexible, age appropriate, developmental framework. GELDS respects each child's individual pace, strengths and context. It is oranized around core developmental domains that include: physical development & motor skills; social/emotional development; approaches to play & learning; communication, language, and literacy; & cognitive/general knowledge.
Relationship-based, Responsive Care that is Developmentally Appropriate & Individualized
Young children learn est when they have secure, trusting relationships with responsive adults who tune in to each child's signals and needs, and support development through daily routines and interactions. We focus on responsive caregiving, supporting social-emotional development, using routines as teaching moments, intentional planning and curriculum strategies. Our philosophy allows for children to develop skills at their own pace. Our staff observes children, responds to their interests, & build on what they are ready for next. This means activities and interactions are: child-centered; flexible & play-based & respectful of families & routines.
